This was an excellent podcast. Both Dr. Ospina and Deena Goldstein of Measurablities Home Safety were excellent. Dr. Ospina is my movement disorder specialist and and she not only “talks the talk”, but she also “walks the walk”. I have been seeing her for 14 years and at every appointment she takes my blood pressure sitting and standing, she asks about falls, dizziness, she watches me walk and sit down with my arms crossed. I have complete confidence in Dr. Ospina! I had someone from Measurabilities Home Safety come to my home and evaluate it for fall risks. It turned out that I had “all the right stuff” except I was lacking 2 bars in my shower and one in the bathroom. The occupational therapist was very impressive (for example when I asked about a bar being placed pm an angle. she mentioned that that alone could be a risk for falling.) This podcast was important for older people as well as for those with Parkinson’s. – JAN SCHEER
